My story
Hi! My name is Beth Wood and I’m the sewing obsessed pattern designer and blogger here at Sew DIY. My goal is to make sewing an easier and more joyful experience for everyone. I started sewing when I was a teenager, partly because I love making things and partly because at 5’11” it was impossible to find clothing that fit my body. Over the years, I’ve taken classes in garment construction and practiced, practiced, practiced. I’ve learned a lot and I love sharing my tips and tricks with you via the blog, Instagram and YouTube.
In 2015, I released my first pdf sewing pattern, the Lou Box Top (it’s still my most popular pattern!). Since then, I’ve continued to add to the pattern catalog and am currently also working on adding e-courses. In 2019, I started updating the pattern catalog to be drafted for a height of 5’10” and fit up to size 32.
About our shop
At Sew DIY, sustainability is important to us. Our products and packaging are carefully selected with that in mind. We sell deadstock and vintage fabric and sewing notions as well as vintage and pdf patterns. Our packaging and shipping materials are as plastic-free and earth friendly as possible. Don’t be surprised if you receive a box or packing material that has been repurposed. We hope that you’ll reuse your box and packing materials as well.
Additionally, we currently offer our patterns only in pdf format because we believe that’s the most earth friendly way to deliver them around the world.
