How to Draft a Funnel Neck Pullover — Sewing With Numbers Project 004 Draft-It-Yourself Manual

This manual is an adaptation of a newsletter series that I created for my Substack Sewing With Numbers. When you purchase this interactive pdf, you will receive all of the tutorials and information needed to draft a Funnel Neck Pullover to your custom size and preferences. (NOTE: This pdf does NOT include instructions for sewing the dress.)

This pdf manual will teach you how to draft a Funnel Neck Pullover. This design is inspired by athletic style fleece sweatshirts from the 1990s. This sweatshirt is a pullover style with an oversized, boxy fit. It has drop shoulder sleeves, a large front and back yoke, a snap placket in the top half of the center front, and a funnel style collar.

The pdf includes tutorials for how to draft a tunic block, drop shoulder sleeves, a snap placket and a funnel collar. Additionally, there are instructions for drafting four pullover variations: a Zippered Jacket With Cuffs, a Sleeveless Vest, an angled Color Blocked Yoke, and a Color Blocked Front.

LESSONS INCLUDED:

  • Drafting A Tunic Block And Sleeves

  • How To Draft A Snap Placket

  • How To Draft A Funnel Collar

  • Design Variations

  • How To True Corners

SKILL LEVEL: I recommend this manual for people with an intermediate sewing skill level and beginner or intermediate pattern drafting. If you don't feel confident doing the sewing construction on your own, then this booklet is not for you.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: PATTERN PIECES ARE NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS NOT A PHYSICAL PRODUCT. This is an instruction booklet for how to draft a tiered skirt to your custom measurements. This booklet DOES NOT include instructions on how to sew and construct the garment. (See the project journal for some basic notes on construction.) Due to the nature of digital products, there are no refunds. Please read the description carefully. THIS IS NOT A PATTERN NOR IS IT A FINISHED GARMENT.

ABOUT SEWING WITH NUMBERS

Sewing With Numbers is a newsletter hosted on Substack about sewing, math and how to draft your own sewing patterns. Through simple pattern drafting exercises, I'll show you how fun, useful and empowering math can be. Every 8 to 10 weeks, I feature a different drafting project, with each lesson building upon the learnings from previous ones. (This pdf booklet is a bundle of all the posts needed to draft one project.) The newsletter goes out about once a week with topics such as drafting exercises and design variations.
