Size chart
about our size range
At Sew DIY, it’s important to us to provide an inclusive size range. In 2019, we started updating our patterns to include bust/hip sizes from 32 to 58 inches (81-147cm) and to be drafted for a height of 5’10”. Currently, all of our patterns are drafted for this size range. We now also have three patterns with gender neutral views – the Ali Sweatshirt, the Tasi Robe and Jacket and the Quilted Slippers.
Each pattern listing has a size chart and finished garment measurements for you to review before purchase. We encourage you to also refer to the finished garment measurements included in the pattern. In general, our patterns are designed with a lot of ease for an oversized fit that is comfortable to wear and easy to fit. If you prefer a more fitted style, you may want to size down. If you have questions (even if you’re unsure what size to select), please reach out and let us know.
SIZE CHART
We have two patterns that have cup size options, the Miri Tank and Eva Sundress and Top. They both use the size chart below.
This size chart below is used for the Lou Box Top, Lou Box Dresses, Lela Skirt, Nita Wrap Skirt and Dana Jumpsuit.
SPORTSWEAR SIZE CHART
This Sportswear size chart below is used for the Ali Sweatshirt and the Summer Sweatsuit. The chest measurement refers to the largest part of the chest or bust.

THE TASI ROBE AND JACKET DRAFT-IT-YOURSELF™ PATTERN
In May 2020, we released our first Draft-It-Yourself™ pattern, the Tasi Robe and Jacket. Instead of using a size chart, this pattern walks you through each step of designing and drafting your own custom fit pattern. You choose the proportions you’d like and we give you the formulas to draft all the pattern pieces. Because you’re starting from scratch, you can make this garment in any size you like for any human body. If you’re not up for doing the calculations yourself, or just want to double check the math. We’ve created a calculator that does the work for you. The calculator is provided as an Excel spreadsheet and as a Google Sheet template.
We hope to make more Draft-It-Yourself™ patterns in the future. They are a great opportunity to learn about basic pattern drafting and be creative.
