What's Up Sew World Vol. 7

Clockwise from top left: Almada Kimono  //  Wanda Trench Coat  //  Opal Cardigan //  French Dart Shift

The past couple of weeks have been busy working on my new pattern, doing my regular job, sewing bunch (lots of new stuff coming later this month!) and for the past few days battling a flu-ish cold. I've been going to bed early and dreaming about the Almada Kimono. Of course, it must be in double gauze, because it's just the most luxurious yet casual fabric. The Almada is from Seamwork magazine and last week, I had the honor of being featured on the Colette blog sharing some thoughts about my handmade wardrobe. It's part of a new series called Seamworker's Closet and I'm sure there are going to be lots of great things to come.

PATTERN RELEASES

Megan Nielsen released the Rie dress pattern. It's a dress/top and suitable for maternity.

Marilla Walker released the Rose Jacket pattern and it’s free!

Paprika Patterns released the Opal Cardigan.

Maven Patterns released the French Dart Shift pattern.

Wear My Lemonade has a new pattern, the Wanda trench coat. So gorgeous. I wish it was in English too.

Grainline Studio released an add-on to the Archer shirt pattern for a Popover style. I bought the Archer pattern at the end of last year and now I want to make it even more.

And last but not least, By Hand London released the Sarah Shirt pattern just last night.

What's Up Sew World Vol. 5

Hi sewing friends! I hope that you've wonderful weeks and are enjoying your weekend. Did you sew any costumes this year? I'm actually not that big on Halloween I do love to see how creative people get with their costumes. I have a ton of sewing projects in the works and I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend. And maybe even a little knitting. I'm also really excited for #BPsewvember to start on Nov. 1. It was so much fun last year. I'm looking forward to doing it again. Read on to see what's been happening in the sew world the last couple of weeks.

What's Up Sew World Vol. 4

Hi sewing friends! Can you believe we're already half way through October? Have you been participating in Slow Fashion October? I had some loose intentions to slow down and the first weekend of the month I didn't do any sewing and opted for weaving instead. (Not really the idea of the movement but oh well.) Last weekend I dove into muslin making for my Fall Sewing plans and had two shirts made by Sunday. Then in a fit of madness I used my Seamwork credits to download the Mesa and Adelaide patterns, printed them out, assembled the Mesa and cut out a muslin for it. I stayed up way too late and have been paying for it all week. (Please tell me I'm not the only one to have fits of sewing madness! ;) This coming weekend I'll be out of town (no sewing for me!) and I'm planning to start a new sock knitting project on the road. Socks are my favorite travel project and I find that I actually wear them too.

Let's get on to what's been happening in sewing world for the last couple of weeks. As this series goes on I'm constantly amazed by how much happens all the time in our wonderful little online world. If you have news I might have missed, let me know in the comments or send me an email for upcoming happenings.
