Just a quick little post to show you these cozy, textured socks I finished knitting this week. I started knitting these on my trip to Chicago in June. I've been knitting them here and there over the past few months and finally made a lot of progress on my trip to Portland this last weekend. Socks are a great project for traveling because they're small and portable.
I used the pattern Hermione Socks by Dreams in Fiber. It's available for free on her blog or as a pdf on Ravelry. The pattern is written for knitting on two circular needles but I used 4 double pointed needles instead. The only part of the pattern that I changed was the decreases on the toe. The pattern has a more gradual decrease but I used one another pattern just because it was easier for me to track.
The texture is really easy to knit, just knit stitches with a purl thrown in here and there. I'm really happy with how these turned out and now that it's not crazy hot in my apartment I'm sure I'll be getting a lot of wear out of them.
