Who doesn't love a short, swingy, striped dress for summer? Whether you're brunching or beaching or just running errands, a swing dress is the perfect thing to put a little bounce in your step. Today I'll show you how I would DIY this totally adorbs RTW dress.
How to DIY a Striped Swing Dress
Step 1: Today's inspiration is the J.O.A Striped Dress from Urban Outfitters. I love so many things about this dress from the swing shape to the high-low hem and probably most of all the tie at the back. (Click the link to see more photos.)
Step 2: For the pattern, I selected Simplicity 1105, a Cynthia Rowley design. This pattern has the same shape as our inspiration and even the tie at the back neck! I bought this pattern when it was on sale a few weeks ago and hope to try it out this summer.
Step 3: There are lots of black and white stripes out there but most have equally spaced/sized stripes. I managed to find one that has bigger white stripes than black from Michael Levine (here).
What are you sewing this summer? Have you tried out this pattern?
