Today I’m very pleased to share a few photos from the tester group for the new draft the Lou Box Top. (To learn more about the updates to the pattern, check out yesterday’s post.) Testers are so integral to the pattern design process. I’m eternally grateful for their help. If you are looking for more Lou Box Top inspiration, check out the #louboxtop hashtag on Instagram.
Leanne (above) had this to say about the pattern:
“I'm so excited that Beth is expanding her sizes, as I can now fit into her patterns. The Lou Box top was such a fun and easy sew, and I can't wait to make a lot more to fill out some holes in my me made wardrobe. The instructions are super easy to follow along with and I'd recommend this pattern to any beginner looking to sew up a boxy shirt!”
Alyson had this to say about the Lou Box Top:
“This pattern is lovely! I admit the term "box top" made me hesitant as a plus-sized sewist - like it would just end up being some big tent-like blob of fabric. But I'm so happy I gave it a try. It has shape and drape, and I love the way it looks on me!
This simple pattern offers lots of great options for making a whole closet-full of shirts to keep you feeling chic while still being comfortable.”
Becky has been one of my long time testers and she is wearing her tester Lou Box Top AND a Baseball Skirt. They really are a perfect pairing. She wrote about the pattern: “This great wardrobe staple pattern should be in every sewist's library regardless of their skill level. When I want a quick satisfying sew, I reach for my Lou box top pattern.”
Chloe wrote about the Lou Box Top:
“The Lou Box Top is a simple sew with lovely clean finishes that make it a super professional result. It fits perfectly into any wardrobe - smart or casual - and is so versatile as it can be made in so many different combinations! I plan to make about 8 different combinations of neckline, hem and fabric for wearing to work and no-one will ever know it's the same pattern on repeat!”
Claire wrote: “The Lou Box Top is a quick and simple sew and the pattern has so many options allowing you to get creative. The end result is a comfortable and stylish top.”
I love how Kristi hacked her top into a tunic. She wrote: “The Lou Box Top is a wardrobe staple that might just be my new favorite pattern! With so many options from fabric choice to hem and neckline styles, I can't wait to make several more!”
Michelle wrote about the Lou Box Top: “A versatile pattern staple! I've got three in my wardrobe from 3 different fabric substrates. It's great for casual wear and can be dressed up easily. Well written, clear instructions, and beginner friendly.”
Again, thank you to everyone helped test out this pattern. If you haven’t purchased your own copy of the Lou Box Top pattern yet, it’s currently discounted to $10 until Sunday, May 12, 2019 at midnight Pacific time. Happy sewing!
