Way back in 2014, I designed a set of free printable gift tags to be used on your handmade gifts. (Check them out here.) It’s been a whopping 9 years since then, so I thought it was time to release something new. And free! Enter the 2023 Modern Holiday Gift Tags. These tags are inspired by the winter season, featuring modern line drawings of trees and snowflakes.
I love the simplicity of the designs and they were really fun to create. I know everyone has a different style for the holidays so in addition to a traditional green and red color, I also included cream, charcoal, dusty blue and a lime green. There are three different shapes, six designs and six colors. In total, there are 36 designs for you to choose from, making this a really versatile pack of gift tags.
The Modern Holiday Gift Tag printable is free to download when you sign up for the newsletter. If you are already subscribed to my weekly newsletter, you can find the pdf in the Resource Library, just scroll down to the Printables section. The link and password to the library are at the bottom of every newsletter.

How to use the PRINTABLE HOLIDAY GIFT TAGS
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE GIFT TAGS PDF
Head over to the Sew DIY Resource Library and login. (If you are already subscribed to my weekly newsletter, you can find the link and password to the library are at the bottom of every newsletter. If you’re not signed up yet, see the sign up form above.)
Scroll down to the Printables section at the bottom and click the link for the gift tags. It should automatically open the pdf in a new window. If you want to use the pdf again at a later time, I recommend saving it to your desktop or laptop computer.
STEP 2: PRINT THE GIFT TAGS
The pdf includes has six pages to choose from—one for each color. So, you can print just the color or colors you want to match your wrapping material. The designs can be printed on 8.5x11/Letter or A4 size paper. You can print at 100% or play around with the settings if you want smaller or larger gift tags. (The designs are vector so they should scale up without loss of resolution.)
Print on card stock and cut out the tags using scissors or an exacto knife. Punch a hole where indicated and attach to your gift with ribbon or string.
STEP 3: CUT OUT THE GIFT TAGS
Use scissors or a utility knife to cut out the gift tags along the edge of the colored shapes. If you want to add a ribbon loop, punch a hole at the top of each gift tag.
STEP 4: WRITE A MESSAGE AND ATTACH TO THE GIFT
On the back of the gift tag, write a message to the recipient or a simple to/from label. Loop ribbon or twine through the hole and tie onto your gift. Alternately, tape the gift tag in place.
I hope that you enjoy using these holiday gift tags. Happy crafting!
