Today’s video is a big one! I share my top reasons why pdf patterns are awesome (just in case you’re not already convinced). Then I share my top tips for how to successfully print pdf patterns (including the printer settings you need to make sure the entire pattern prints on the page). And finally I show how to efficiently assemble and cut the pattern. I even show you the techniques I learned in design school for safely using an exacto knife or blade. I’ve never cut off a finger using these techniques so hopefully it will help you and keep your fingers safe too!
Sewing Tutorial - How to Sew Shoulder Ties
Hi sew-friends! Today, I’m sharing how to sew tie shoulder straps on a dress, jumpsuit or top. This is a really fun and easy pattern hack that’s also perfect for the summer season. These shoulder straps are fully adjustable and depending on the fit of the garment, can even be used to when you’re taking it on and off. Read on for full step-by-step and instructions and if you want to make your shoulder ties removable, check out this tutorial that I wrote a few years ago. It even includes a free pattern for the shoulder tie and is a great way to add shoulder ties to a garment that you’ve already made.
DIY Linen Swing Tank - Review of the Hadley Top pattern by Grainline Studio
Hello sew-friends! Today I’m sharing another garment from my Make Nine list - the Hadley Top by Grainline Studio. I’m always on the lookout for nice tops that I can pair with jeans or trousers for a quick and easy outfit. I especially love sleeveless styles because they’re easy to wear under a cardigan. I really love the swingy design of this top, it’s a little fancier than the Willow Tank by Grainline (which I’ve made twice!) and it was a pleasure to sew.
