Today I'm really excited to share a DIY designed by Tilly from Tilly and the Buttons – the Brigitte Scarf. This is a very easy DIY – the perfect project for a beginning sewist. Tilly's instructions are detailed and very easy to follow. For my scarf, I used a tribal print fabric leftover from a skirt that I helped my niece make. I love this scarf and haven't taken it off since I first put it on! This basic shape that can be worn around the neck, as a belt or tied onto a bag.
Tilly is giving away the pattern for free to celebrate the launch of her new book Love At First Stitch. It's currently available in the UK and will be available for purchase in the US on Oct 14. Make your own scarf and post it using the hashtag #LoveAtFirstStitch to join the virtual party. This scarf would also make a great Mother's Day gift and it's so quick to stitch up you have plenty of time to make one for mom.
While taking these pictures, I thought it might be fun to share the makeup I'm wearing in these photos. Some of my friends say it looks like I'm not wearing any makeup at all but trust me, just a few things make all the difference. Here I'm wearing: Bare Minerals pressed powder, Nars blush in Orgasm, Eyeko Mascara (top lashes), Bad Gal Lash Mascara (bottom lashes) and a light L'Oreal lip gloss. I love the Bad Gal mascara because it's super light and not clumpy at all but when I want a little more oomph I add the Eyeko mascara on the top lashes. Do you have any go-to makeup items?
