Video: Sewing with Stripes with Workroom Social and McCall's Patterns

Today I'm super excited to share the final installment of the “Fashion Sewing + You” video series by Jennifer of Workroom Social and McCall's Patterns. The series shows how you can take sewing patterns and customize them to create clothing that fits your personal style. Some of the techniques include sewing with leather, fringe and bias tape. I've had a great time watching all of the videos in the series. Not only is Jennifer inspiring, she's also full of energy and really fun to watch. I wish I lived in Brooklyn so I could go hang out at the Workroom Social. It looks like so much fun! I pretty much want to make all of her designs, especially this lattice back tank top.

Today's video is all about using stripes to create unique designs. If you've ever wondered how to make your stripes into a chevron pattern, then you need to sit yourself down and watch this video right away. When I first started sewing, making chevron stripes mystified me. Jennifer describes how to cut and sew stripes on the bias in simple, easy to follow steps.

Ever wonder how to take one of our sewing patterns, but look beyond the model photo or illustration on the envelope to bring YOUR personal style to life? McCall's and Workroom Social will show you how easy it can be to add designer touches to your garments in this video series.

Check out the rest of the videos in the series right here and happy sewing!
