I made this skirt on the first day of Me Made May. This was a quick make, done in a few hours and I even wore it out that night! I've been really inspired to sew this month and I hope I'll get a few more things done before the month is over. I've made a few versions of this skirt before and I really love it. It's as easy to wear as it is to make.
For the pattern, I used the skirt pattern from Sew U Home Stretch by Wendy Mullin. You might recall that I used this pattern last week for my Red Ikat Knit skirt. I've also used it for a grey knit skirt and a striped double-knit. This time the only adjustment I made was to make the length a little bit shorter so that it hit just above the knee.
The fabric is a double-knit that I picked up at the Michael Levine Loft, bulk fabric store in downtown LA. It has a nice thickness which is perfect for a fitted skirt like this.
I really love this skirt paired with the coral color. It's a little unusual as a pairing but the navy and black are essentially neutrals, so why not? Do you have a go-to pattern like this skirt, something that you make over and over again? If you want to keep up with my Me Made May adventures, follow me on Instagram.
